AUTODYNE RECEIVES BOEING’S GOLD SUPPLIER PERFORMANCE RATING

This rating (100% delivery and quality) is the result of several projects Autodyne recently manufactured for Boeing’s Military Aircraft and Missile Systems group in California. This is the result of Autodyne’s efforts in subcontracting expansion.

Included in these orders was a custom designed relay assembly. Working closely with Boeing engineers, Autodyne modified an existing design to meet Boeing’s custom B1B application. The time from idea to production was a just few weeks. “Using electronic files and the internet enabled us to keep the time frame short and geographic distances insignificant.” Says Peter Canning, Autodyne’s Business Development Director.

 

8/10/00 AUTODYNE WINS THE ARMY’S FIRST “REVERSE AUCTION

Standard bidding practices and modern technology crashed together in Fort Monmouth’s first purchase of a military item utilizing their “reverse auction” internet software.

“The auction went exactly as I predicted, including some impracticalities which I am sure the people at Ft. Monmouth will remedy,” says Peter Canning (Autodyne’s business development director). As far as the future of reverse auctioning, he says, “I see both advantages and disadvantages for us and small business in general. The program is going to need some modifications. It’s a little too early for an actual opinion yet. I do know that standard bidding practices are going to change and change fast. Autodyne is going to be there when it happens.”

 

COLONEL DILLARD VISITS AUTODYNE

Colonel John Dillard, Commander of the Long Island Defense Contract Management Command, made a friendly visit to our facility on March 14. We are impressed with the Colonel’s interest in getting out to meet the small businesses whose contracts his command administers. We also thank the Colonel for all the positive and complimentary comments he made during his visit. 

 

SUBCONTRACTING AND COMMERCIAL SALES A SUCCESS IN 1999

Autodyne’s growth efforts have included adding additional subcontracting opportunities with primes and commercial sales. Last year these types of sales reached an all time high. The success of this program and the Department of Defense’s efforts to develop stronger woman owned businesses have prompted Autodyne to actively offer its products and services to large primes. In addition to its product line of over 2000 items Autodyne will be providing Build-to-Print and Build-to-Sample services to a growing number of small and large companies.
